Gaba English Program

As part of Adobe’s commitment to support growth and development, Adobe will reimburse 50% of the cost for your English lessons.

To apply, it must be approved by your manager and deemed to be relevant to your role and responsibilities in the business.

Employees can also apply for the Professional Development Program to cover another 50% of the cost. To learn more, please visit the Learning Fund page.

How does it work?

In the case of a 6-month course, if you use the system, you can take it for less than 20,000 JPY, instead of the original cost of 300,000 JPY or more. If you choose the 3-month course, you will have a surplus of Learning Fund money, so you can allocate that amount to another program.

For a 3-month course

Original price: 148,000 JPY

Half price subsidy: 148,000 JPY ÷ 2 = 74,000 JPY

Learning Fund: 74,000 - 137,050 JPY = 0 JPY (remainder of 63,050 JPY)

For a 6-month course

Original price: 306,650JPY

Half price subsidy: 306,650 JPY ÷ 2 = 153,325 JPY

Learning Fund: 153,325 - 137,050 JPY  = 16,275 JPY

For a 12-month course

Original price: 524,000 JPY

Half price subsidy: 524,000 JPY ÷ 2 = 262,000 JPY

Learning Fund: 262,000 - 137,050 JPY = 124,950 JPY

How to register

  1. Tell your manager that you are applying for Gaba and get verbal approval
  2. Choose your plan and complete the Gaba English Course Application Form [PDF] (Your manager’s signature is required)
  3. Send the completed form to corpsales2@gaba.co.jp (Subject: [Adobe] English conversation course application)
  4. Follow the instructions from the Gaba representative to start the course

How to get reimbursed

Follow the instructions below and make the best use of both half-price subsidy and your Learning Fund benefits.

Concur (use of half-price subsidy)

  1. Log in to Concur
  2. Select your default business unit cost center
  3. For Business Purpose, select Others-Please specify
  4. For Expense type, select Conferences, Training and Seminars
  5. In the comments section, add Gaba English Lesson Benefits
  6. Enter other necessary items and attach a copy of the receipt and completion certificate (minimum 90% attendance rate required) to submit
     

My Adobe Benefits (use of Learning Fund)

  1. Log in to My Adobe Benefits
  2. Select the Reimbursement tab
  3. Click Make a claim
  4. Select Professional Development Reimbursement as the application type
  5. Enter other necessary items and attach a copy of the receipt to submit
