Special reasons leave

Adobe offers additional paid time off for the following life events. Employees and managers should discuss and agree on any requests for special leave, balancing flexibility and meeting business needs. Be sure to get your manager’s approval for the leave prior to entering your request in Workday.

Marriage leave

Five paid days that should be taken immediately before or immediately after your own wedding or the wedding of your child. Adobe does not require you to submit a marriage certificate but reserves the right to request documentation for audit purposes, if needed. Submit your request marriage leave in Workday (see instructions).

Study exam leave

Five paid days per calendar year that can be taken to prepare for exams for any course approved under the Learning Fund Program or any other job-related course, with manager approval. Submit your request for statutory study leave in Workday (see instructions).

Compulsory military service leave

If you are called for compulsory military service, Adobe will terminate your employment at least three days before the date mentioned in the relevant written notice you receive.

Within a month after you are discharged from compulsory military service, you can request a new employment contract with Adobe. Adobe will provide you with a new employment contract within three days of your request. Your new contract conditions must be no less favorable than the conditions of your previous contract.

Leave for performance of state or public duties

Adobe also provides paid leave when you are:

  • Voting in political elections
  • Summoned as a witness, victim, expert, specialist, or an interpreter by preliminary investigators, the prosecutor’s office, or the court
  • Participating in court hearings as an employee’s representative
  • A medical donor
  • Involved in other events per legislation of the Republic of Armenia

Paid day in lieu

You can take a paid day in lieu of traveling for business on a non-working day or weekend. You must take the day in lieu within one month of your business trip. Talk with your manager prior to your business trip about taking the paid day in lieu to ensure the trip is approved, including the non-working day and the paid day in lieu. Document the decision in an email. It is not necessary to track the day in lieu in Workday.

What happens to my benefits while I’m on special reasons leave?

All benefits remain unchanged while you are on special reasons leave (e.g., marriage, study, jury duty).

How are my base salary and commissions calculated, if I am a commissionable employee, during paid special reasons leave?

For special leaves, all employees receive 100% of base salary, and commissions are calculated as per the individual’s sales compensation program and based on bookings that occur during the leave duration.
