Learn about the health care programme you receive from Adobe. Support towards your health care is a big part of your total rewards, and we want to help you get the most from it. Information about your plans and associated costs is listed below.
Overview
Your annual gross income determines your cover options. If your income is less than the threshold, you must enrol in statutory health insurance; if it is higher, there is optional private health insurance. In either case, Adobe shares the cost of cover with you.
Statutory medical insurance
Who’s eligible
All regular employees, Adobe-paid temporary employees, and interns with an annual gross income less than the annual threshold (€69.300 in 2024) are required to have statutory health insurance (Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung or GKV).
Contributions
Adobe contributes to the cost of statutory health insurance and statutory long-term care insurance on a co-sharing basis as follows:
- Adobe contributes 7,3% of the employee gross salary.
- Employee contributions vary between 7,7% and 8,8% of gross salary up to the salary ceiling of €62.100 per year (2024), depending on salary and type of insurance (Krankenkassen).
- If the contribution assessment ceiling (€62.100 per year) is exceeded, the income above does not change the contribution. Adobe contributes to the cost of statutory long-term care insurance (Pflegepflichtversicherung) on a co-sharing basis.
Dependants will be insured free of charge with the family insurance policy.
Cover
Statutory health insurance primarily includes benefits that are standard services and compulsory for all insurance providers, including:
- Practice-based treatment by family doctors, specialists, and psychotherapists
- Hospital-based treatment
- Screening tests
- Vaccinations
- Medical care related to pregnancy and birth
- Prescription drugs
- Physiotherapy
- Medical aids
- Basic dentistry, including check-ups, gum treatment, and orthodontic treatment
Private medical insurance
Who’s eligible
All regular employees, Adobe-paid temporary employees, and interns with an annual gross income higher than €69.300 (2024) per year (Jahresarbeitsentgeltgrenze) may enrol in private medical insurance (Private Krankenversicherung or PKV).
Cover
Private medical insurance benefits vary by provider. Plans may include access to private practice doctors, more comprehensive cover for medical procedures, and access to semiprivate and private rooms in hospitals.
Reimbursement
Adobe reimburses employees 50% of the cost of private medical insurance for employees and their dependants, and 50% of the cost of private long-term care insurance, up to an annual limit set by the government.
