The childcare (Kindergarten) reimbursement programme is designed to help employees with costs related to the care of their young children.
What is the benefit?
The reimbursement programme allows eligible employees to receive a tax-free reimbursement of 100% of eligible childcare expenses when the expenses are incurred and submitted for reimbursement within the same calendar year (1 January – 31 December).
Any submissions for childcare reimbursement made outside the calendar year in which the expense is incurred will not be eligible.
The programme reimburses you for the cost of children outside the household, including meals. Other costs associated with education courses or transportation between home and childcare institutions are not eligible under the programme.
Eligibility
All regular employees, Adobe-paid temporary employees and interns are eligible for the benefit.
To be eligible for reimbursement, you must be the parent or legal guardian of the child for whom you request reimbursement of childcare costs, and your child must be:
- Younger than 6 years of age (a child completing the age of 6 before 1 July will be eligible for benefits relating to the period January to July of the same year); and
- Enrolled in an eligible childcare institution or programme.
Eligible childcare institutions:
- Preschool facilities (Kindergarten) / school kindergarten (Schulkindergarten)
- Daycare centers (Kindertagesstätte)
- Nursery schools (Kinderkrippe)
- Childminder (Tagesmutter): only for services outside the home of the child
- Whole-day foster home (Ganztagspflegestelle)
- Boarding schools (Vorschule): for non-school-aged children
