Expansion of Mexico Maternity and Paternity Leaves
Effective December 1, 2018, the Mexico Maternity and Paternity leaves are being enhanced. All eligible employees in Mexico will be eligible for Maternity leave of up to 26 weeks paid time off for the birth, adoption or foster placement of a child and for Paternity leave, up to 2 weeks paid time off. The enhanced benefit is available for employees whose child is born or placed on or after December 1, 2018.

Maternity Leave

Effective through November 30, 2018, take up to 84 calendar days (excluding holidays) of paid leave for the birth of your child. Your salary is paid at 100% by the social security system, but it’s limited to the social security cap called “salario de cotizacion.” Your leave can begin at any time 42 days before the birth of your child, or up to 42 days after the birth.

Effective beginning December 1, 2018, take up to 182 calendar days (excluding holidays) of paid leave for the birth of your child. Adobe will pay 100% of your salary during both the statutory maternity period—up to 84 days—and the remaining days of Adobe’s maternity period. Your leave can begin at any time 6 weeks before the birth of your child, or up to 6 weeks after the birth.

If you adopt or obtain custody of a child, you are also eligible to take up to 182 days of leave if the child is under the age of 6 years old.
