Time off and paid holidays

Taking time off for vacation or other personal needs is essential to your health and productivity. Learn more about time off and leave options available to you. Please make arrangements with your manager before taking time off. Note that the holiday year runs from 1 June to 31 May.

Paid time off

Adobe provides paid time off (PTO), so you can relax and recharge or attend to personal needs.

Paid time off (congés payés) accrual begins immediately upon starting work. You accrue a set amount of paid time off each month that then becomes available for use in the following holiday year, which runs from 1 June to 31 May.

The base level PTO entitlement for full-time employees is 25 days per year. Additional PTO days are provided as follows:

  • 0–20 years of employment: three additional days per year
  • At least 20 years of employment: four additional days per year

Réduction du temps de travail (RTT)

In addition to the paid days off, cadres employees working full time will also accrue 10 days of réduction du temps de travail (RTT) per year.

RTT is accrued on a monthly basis (0.84 days per month) and can be taken during the year in which it is accrued. Any unused RTT leave will be forfeited as of 31 May.

Taking time off

Adobe encourages you to use your full annual leave each year to rest and rejuvenate. In some circumstances, you may carry over up to five PTO days with manager approval, to be used by 31 August of the following holiday year. Days not used by 31 August of the following year will be forfeited.

Employees who have a remaining PTO balance at the end of the year after carrying over five days will transfer up to five unused days to the article 83 private pension. Up to five unused RTT days will also be transferred to the article 83 private pension. Any remaining PTO or RTT days will be forfeited.

If you leave Adobe, any PTO or RTT that you have available, based on your termination date, will be paid to you.

Discuss and agree on your time off with your manager. Once you have manager approval, enter your PTO or RTT in Workday by the first day that you are absent from work. Follow these step-by-step instructions. (You must be on the network to view this page.)

Your manager will receive a notification when you submit time off in Workday but will not be requested to approve. Please notify your manager of your PTO or RTT prior to submission.

Time off FAQs

How do I request half days off?

When requesting Personal Time Off in Workday, in the Daily Quantity field, input 0.5 instead of 1 before submitting your time-off request.

How do I find my time-off balance for the current year?

You can view your balance for the current holiday year in Workday (see instructions).

How do I read the time-off table in Workday?

In Workday, in the Time Off Balance table, hover over the titles, and a brief description will appear. See what each column of the table represents.

How do I view carryover PTO?

To carry over PTO, we recommend submitting your time-off request in Workday prior to your vacation. You can carry over up to five unused PTO days from one year to the next, to be used until 31 August. Workday will automatically carry over unused days. These days will be visible in Workday from 1 June. Follow these instructions to view your balance.

Your carried-over days will be visible in the Beginning Year Balance column. You can click on the number under the Carryover Balance column to check when the carried-over days will expire. Any days you carried over will be used from your balance first. As you enter time off, the value under the Carryover Balance column will decrease accordingly.

Follow these instructions to view the PTO balance for an individual employee.

How is PTO calculated for part-time employees?

Part-time employees are entitled to the same number of days and will need to book full days or weeks when requesting days off.

Vacation bonus (prime de vacances) is a lump sum offered to Adobe employees based on Syntec CBA, equal to 10% of the total amount of paid vacation (congés payés) for the period of 1 June to 31 May for all employees.
