Maternity leave

Female employees who are having a baby or who are adopting a child under 18 years old are eligible for 182 calendar days of Adobe-paid maternity leave. There is no minimum service requirement before employees are eligible for this benefit.

While on maternity leave, sales employees will be paid 100% of total target compensation (TTC), and non-sales employees will be paid 100% of base salary. This leave must be taken in one continuous block. Refer to the Korea Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy [PDF] and APJ Maternity and Paternity Leave FAQs [PDF] for more details.

Paternity leave

Male employees who have been in continuous employment with Adobe for at least three consecutive months and are having a baby or who are adopting a child under 18 years old are eligible for 16 calendar weeks of Adobe-paid paternity leave.

While on paternity leave, sales employees will be paid 100% of total target compensation (TTC), and non-sales employees will be paid 100% of base salary.

Paternity leave must be taken in one continuous block and must be completed within six months of the birth or placement date of the child.

The minimum Adobe-paid paternity leave period is 30 days. If you return to work before the full 16-week entitlement, any remaining days will be forfeited. If employees do not meet the minimum service requirement for Adobe-paid paternity leave, they can use the statutory paternity leave entitlement of 10 days. Refer to the Korea Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy [PDF] and APJ Maternity and Paternity Leave FAQs [PDF] for more details.

Next steps

When you have decided on the type of parental leave that you wish to take, please follow these steps:

  1. Speak to your manager at least 10 weeks before starting the leave, and agree on the dates for your leave.
  2. Review the Korea Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy [PDF] and the APJ Maternity and Paternity Leave FAQs [PDF].
  3. If you have any questions, submit a request via the Support Center.

We understand that it may be hard to predict how long you will be away from work. If you alter your start and/or end dates, please submit a request via the Support Center at least 15 days in advance to avoid any payroll implications.

Child care leave

Leave without pay is available to eligible Adobe employees who have a child who is under the age of 8 or enrolled in lower than second grade at elementary school. You must have worked at Adobe for least six continuous months in order to be eligible for this leave. If eligible, you may take up to 365 calendar days of unpaid leave. This leave does not need to be taken all at once and can be split up into a maximum of three blocks of time.

Refer to the Korea Child Care Leave Policy [PDF] for more information.

How rewards are affected during a leave of absence

This benefit is considered a leave of absence. Whilst on a leave of absence, your benefits (including health insurance and retirement payments), time off (including annual leave accruals), and compensation (for example salary, AIP, commission, and equity) may be affected. Please refer to the Rewards impact during a leave of absence document [PDF] for further information.
