Time off and paid holidays

Take action

If you are a part-time employee working less than 5 days per week, please submit a request with the Support Centre to confirm your working schedule.

Submit a request

Adobe provides time off so you can relax and recharge. Please make arrangements with your manager before taking time off. The holiday year runs from January 1 to December 31.

How much you earn

Paid time off accrual begins immediately upon starting work and is accrued by a set amount each year. The annual leave entitlement for full-time employees is 25 working days per calendar year.

Paid time off for part-time employees is prorated to the number of days you work per week, not to the number of hours.

  • Example 1: You work 3 days per week, so you are eligible for 15 days (calculation: 3x25/5 = 15 days).
  • Example 2: You work 4 days per week, so you are eligible for 20 days (calculation: 4x25/5 = 20 days).

Taking time off

Adobe encourages you to use your full annual leave each year to rest and rejuvenate. In some circumstances, you may carry over unused days into the following year to be used within 18 months, with manager approval. Days not used during the additional 18 months will be forfeited.

If you leave Adobe, any PTO you have available, based on your termination date, will be paid to you.

Schedule your time off in advance with your manager, then submit your request through Workday. Follow these instructions

Your manager will receive a notification that you have entered PTO in Workday, but they will not be requested to approve, which is why it is important that you get their approval prior to entering in Workday.

Time off FAQs

How do I find out my time off balance for the current year?

You can view your balance for the current year in Workday (see instructions).

How do I request half days off?

There is no option to report half days in Workday. Adobe would like to foster an environment of trust and flexibility. If you need to take a few hours off to attend to personal matters, discuss it with your manager, and rearrange your work time accordingly. You do not need to track these hours.

If you want or need to take two half-day holidays, enter one full day in Workday (see instructions). However, discuss this with your manager before taking the time or entering it into Workday.

As a manager, how do I check my team's PTO balance in Workday?

Follow these instructions to view the PTO balance for an individual employee or entire team.

How do I read the time off table in Workday?

Go to Workday to access the Time Off Balance table. Hover over the titles, and a brief description will appear. See what each column of the table represents.

Workday will automatically carry over unused days. These days will be visible in Workday from 1 January.

How do I view carryover days?

Follow these instructions to view your balance.

How do I track days in lieu for business travel on a weekend?

A paid day in lieu is provided if you travel on business on a day that falls on a non-working day or weekend. The day in lieu should be taken within one month following the trip.

Follow these instructions to enter your day in lieu in Workday once you have obtained approval from your manager for the date you wish to take off in lieu.
