In the event of a death

Adobe understands that this is a difficult time, but we are here to help and make the next steps as easy as possible for you. It’s important to contact your manager and Employee Experience at erc@adobe.com for assistance right away. The Employee Experience Team will help you or your loved ones with next steps and provide support after a death, including filing for any survivor benefits. There are also additional resources through the EAP to help you at your time of loss.

Below you’ll find information about how you can use your benefits during this period.

Note: The information is applicable only if you and your dependent are covered and are valid beneficiaries for the respective program.

Health and welfare plans

Medical InsuranceIf a covered dependent expires (dies), submit a deletion request under the group medical coverage plan within 30 days of the loss, or you can update/delete the dependent information in the next annual enrollment cycle. Email adobe.noida@uhcpindia.com or adobe.bangalore

Your active coverage will end at the end of the day (00:00 hrs.) following the employee's demise. The expenses for medical treatment (cashless or reimbursement), if any, will be taken care of by the TPA (UHCP) considering the date of admission for hospitalisation.

Any hospitalisation/medical expenses after the demise of the employee will not be covered under the Adobe India medical plan.

For example:

Case 1: The date of admission for hospitalisation is 3 April 2022 for a dependent, and the date of death of employee is 5 April 2022. In this case, expenses related to treatment will be considered from date of admission until date of discharge.

Case 2: If the date of admission for hospitalisation is 6 April 2022 for a dependent and the date of death of employee is 5 April 2022, then the expenses will not be covered under the medical plan.

Life Insurance (Personal Accident)Declare your nominee by logging in to the UHCP portal. If a nominee dies, submit a request via the Support Centre or the UHCP team to update the nominee information within 30 days of the death. Email adobe.noida@uhcpindia.com or adobe.bangalore

Email the Employee Experience Team at erc@adobe.com. Your case will be referred to one of our ERC consultants, and a dedicated resource will collect any required documents and submit claims on your behalf to United India Insurance Company (UIIC).
Life Insurance (Term Life)Declare your nominee by logging in to My Adobe Benefits portal. You can update your nomination anytime in the case of a life event (such as death of a beneficiary/nominee.) For assistance, submit a request via the Support Centre.Email the Employee Experience Team at erc@adobe.com. Your case will be referred to one of our ERC consultants, and a dedicated resource will collect any required documents and submit claims on your behalf to Kotak Mahindra.
EPS – Pension Benefit

Submit the documents listed below when you join the organisation:

  3. Copy of Aadhaar card

In case of the death of a nominee, submit a request to update your nominee information within 30 days of the death. For assistance, submit a request via the Support Centre.

Email the Employee Experience Team at erc@adobe.com. Your case will be referred to one of our ERC consultants, and a dedicated resource will collect and submit any required documents on your behalf to the finance team at Adobe.

National Pension System (Corporate Subscriber)

Note: This is an optional benefit

Ensure that your PRAN is mapped to Adobe and that your contribution has been declared on Excelity for monthly deductions through payroll.

In case of death of the subscriber (employee), the claimant/nominee in NPS account may fill and submit the NPS withdrawal form for a claim of accumulated pension wealth at the nearest HDFC Bank branch.

The documents listed below must be submitted by the nominee/claimant along with the claim form:

  1. Original Death Certificate of the NPS subscriber
  2. Original PRAN card OR a copy of PRAN card of the NPS subscriber
  3. Self-attested copy of PAN card of the nominee/claimant as a photo ID proof
  4. Self-attested copy of valid address proof other than Aadhaar card
  5. A cancelled cheque of the bank account where the nominee/claimant wishes to receive the proceeds of NPS account

Employee Deposit Linked Insurance

You have the option to email or live chat with a representative.

There may be employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) shares or other Adobe equity-related assets held at E*TRADE, which may be transferable to a beneficiary, trust, or estate. Contact E*TRADE Beneficiary Services at 000 800 100 9445. You will be required to complete an E*TRADE Estate Account Application Form and submit an original death certificate.
Provident Fund

Submit the documents listed below when you join the organisation:

In case of the death of a nominee, submit a request to update your nominee information within 30 days of the death. For assistance, submit a request via the Support Centre.

Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF)

Gratuity

Fill in the details requested in FORM F through the link shared with you as a part of your joining docket.

In case of the death of a nominee, submit a request to update your nominee information within 30 days of the death. For assistance, submit a request via the Support Centre.

In case of the employee’s death, the gratuity amount shall be paid to the nominated beneficiary as a part of full and final settlement. Provide your bank account details and approval email from the ERC to the Adobe finance team to transfer the gratuity amount to your (nominee's) account as a part of full and final settlement. Payroll

PayrollMake any necessary changes to your income tax withholding through the Excelity portal. Time Off

Adobe offers 20 days of paid bereavement time following the death of an immediate family member.

Speak with your manager about your need for bereavement time, and submit your bereavement time off through Workday.

In case of the employee’s death, any accrued but unused vacation leave balance will be encashed through payroll to employee’s beneficiary/nominee as a part of full and final settlement. Provide your bank account details and approval email from the ERC to the Adobe finance team to transfer the salary to your (nominee's) account. Email the Employee Experience Team at erc@adobe.com.
