The cost of COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots is covered in full for Aetna and Kaiser members. You will need to obtain the vaccine from an in-network provider, beginning on these dates:

• Aetna members: January 1, 2024
• Kaiser Washington members: May 12, 2023
• Kaiser California members: November 12, 2023

For Aetna members, diagnostic testing, care, and treatment related to a COVID-19 diagnosis is covered under your normal medical plan design (i.e., subject to your deductible, coinsurance, copays, and out-of-pocket maximum).

Over-the-counter test kits are not covered by Aetna, effective January 1, 2024. If you paid for a test kit in 2023, you can submit a claim for reimbursement. Log in to the Aetna member website (or SSO) for claim submission details.

For Kaiser members, the state-mandated waivers of cost sharing have ended for COVID-19 vaccines, home antigen tests, PCR tests, and drug therapies outside the Kaiser network. Members can continue to get care and testing, including home antigen tests, through Kaiser providers and pharmacies.
