The Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) lets you pay for health care expenses with tax-free dollars.
Overview
You can contribute up to $3,200 per calendar year to your Health Care FSA in 2024. For 2025, the maximum amount you can contribute to your Health Care FSA is increasing to $3,300. Because the FSA is a use-it-or-lose-it account, be sure to plan carefully so you do not end up with unused funds at the end of the year.
You can enroll as a new hire, during Open Enrollment, or if you experience a qualifying life event during the year. You must be enrolled in the Aetna HealthSelect EPO plan (new for 2025), the Kaiser medical plan, or have waived Adobe medical coverage. Visit the Adobe benefits enrollment site to enroll and select your annual election amount.
FSA administration change
In 2025, the FSA administrator will change from TRI-AD to HealthEquity, the same company that administers our HSAs. Be on the lookout for detailed communications about the transition process, including a new HealthEquity debit card.
New FSA claim deadline
You have until March 31, 2025, to submit 2024 reimbursement claims to TRI-AD. This deadline is two months earlier than in previous years.
Eligible expenses
You can use your FSA to pay for qualified health care expenses that aren’t fully covered by insurance for you, your spouse, and your tax dependents.

Using your FSA
You have two options to access your FSA:
- Pay doctors, pharmacies, and other providers directly, using your FSA debit card.
- Pay from your personal bank account, and reimburse yourself later through TRI-AD for 2024 expenses; or HealthEquity (or SSO) for 2025 expenses.
You’ll receive a debit card when you enroll in the FSA for the first time.
Deadline reminder
You have until March 31, 2025, to submit claims for expenses incurred in 2024.
