Back-up child care

Find quality, trusted back-up care when your regular care arrangements fall through. Receive up to 15 total back-up care days per year, with a low copayment, across all types of care.

  • Get center-based care through a network of high-quality Bright Horizons centers and partner centers. Pay $30 per day for one child or $50 per day for two or more children.
  • Get at-home care, including when your child is mildly ill. Pay $8 per hour for up to three children. There’s a four-hour minimum, and each 10 hours of care counts as a day toward your 15-day maximum.
  • Pilot program: Up to five of your 15 days can be used toward out-of-network reimbursement, which is $100 per day (taxable) to be applied toward care within your personal network (such as a relative or friend). Contact the family concierge to access out-of-network care.

Reimbursable out-of-network care will be subject to imputed income tax. Although you will receive the reimbursement directly from Bright Horizons, you will see the imputed income reflected on your Adobe paycheck within 60 to 90 days of the reported care. Remember, you have access to 1:1 tax preparation and guidance.

Back-up adult companion care

When mom lives across the country and gets injured, dad’s recovering from surgery, or the regular caregiver calls in sick, Bright Horizons will arrange high-quality, back-up companion care for them. Adobe employees receive up to 15 total back-up care days per year, with a low copayment, across all types of care.

Out-of-network care reimbursement

As of January 1, 2026, if Bright Horizons is unable to fill your request within the back-up care network, out-of-network care reimbursement will be offered through a direct link to Sittercity’s easy-to-use site. You can post a job to find quality local caregivers for the back-up care that you need, or you can continue to rely on a caregiver you know by inviting them to join Sittercity.

How it works
  1. If Bright Horizons network care options are not available, submit your request through the Care Reimbursement tab during the reservation process.
  2. You will be redirected to Sittercity. Log in or create an account.
  3. Follow the options to either post a job to book care from Sittercity’s database of caregivers or add a caregiver you know personally. Your sitter will need to join Sittercity and can keep their account private and make their profile viewable only to you.
  4. When care is complete, return to Bright Horizons to request reimbursement. You will still receive the same reimbursement amount, and you will pay your caregiver directly.

Exchange one back-up care use for one day of in-person or virtual camp for your child at Bright Horizons centers, Steve & Kate’s Camp, and others. Activities include crafts, Roblox, fitness, digital art, space exploration, mathletes, and more. Submit a camp request through Bright Horizons.

Adoption assistance

Adopting a child is an exciting and happy time. To help, Adobe will reimburse up to $25,000 for eligible adoption expenses. You can be reimbursed for two separate adoptions, with a lifetime maximum of $50,000. Eligible expenses include:

  • Adoption fees
  • Court costs and attorney’s fees
  • Travel expenses

Surrogacy assistance

Families are formed in many ways, and Adobe’s surrogacy assistance is designed to support you on your journey. Adobe will reimburse you for nonmedical expenses associated with surrogacy, up to $25,000 per event, with a lifetime maximum of two events.

Breast milk transportation

Milk Stork is a breast milk delivery service for moms traveling on Adobe business and for parents of a baby with a gestational surrogate. The service provides no-fuss, refrigerated, express shipping or easy toting of breast milk to your baby.

Here’s how moms and gestational surrogates use Milk Stork:

  • Pump according to a regular nursing schedule and refrigerate the milk.
  • Activate the cooling unit in the Milk Stork cooler. Then, pack the refrigerated breast milk.
  • Schedule a FedEx pickup for express delivery. Or hand deliver the cooler of milk to the baby’s home.

Support following a death

TenCode Benefits (formerly Survivor Outreach Services) provides support for Adobe employees and families following the death of a family member. Services include funeral planning, help with claim forms for life and accident benefits, notifying credit reporting agencies and the Social Security Administration, providing template letters, and other support.
